This session celebrates the natural human ability to improvise and find musical expression in the moment, drawing parallels between jazz, folk music, and the improvisational traditions found throughout the world.

Amram records the final cuts for his upcoming new album of songs. Commissioned by Nora Guthrie (grand-daughter of Woody), the album features 5 Woody Guthrie songs, a Phil Ochs song and Amram originals. Featuring bassist Rene Hart, drummer Kevin Twigg, guitarist Justin Poindexter, percussionist Adam Amram and David Amram on vocals, piano and various instruments.

Beginning with a poem celebrating Bob Kaufman's hundredth birthday, other poets included Frank Messina and Ron Whitehead. The concert will include jazz classics that Hunter loved.
